Adventages of Disk & Shell Heat Exchanger
(1) High Heat Transfer Efficiency
Since corrugated structure of heat transfer plates forms turbulent flow in low Reynolds number, the overall heat transfer coefficient is approx. 3,000~6,000kcal/㎡hr℃ which is 4-5 times higher than of shell & tube heat exchanger.
(2) High Pressure Resistance
Maximum operating pressure of fully welded unit is 100 bar.
(3) High Temperature Resistance
Since there are no gaskets to form channel, Disk & Shell heat exchangers can operate at temperatures as high as 400℃.
(4) High Economic Efficiency
Disk & Shell heat exchanger has many economic advantages compared to shell & tube and gasketed type heat exchangers including lower price and smaller size (25% of S&T installation area) compared to S&T unit, absence of gaskets insures lowest maintenance cost.
